Car accidents often prove to be fatal

Car accidents are often attributed to some form of traffic violation. Such traffic violations can include speeding, tailgating, changing lanes without the proper notice to the other drivers, driving under the influence, texting while driving or talking on the cell phone while driving.

Such car accidents can cause serious injuries, including fractures, head and neck injuries and brain and spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the car accident victim might suffer from internal injuries and bleeding. In even more serious car accident cases, the driver may pass away due to the injuries.

The Illinois state authorities have made it their mission to make the state a "driving zero fatalities" state. Spreading awareness regarding traffic safety is a primary goal. A car accident, in addition to the injuries and fatalities that the victims experience, has the potential to cause great financial losses. Several car accident victims and the victim's family members may wish to consider consulting a legal professional to help in order to recover compensation from the insurance company of the other driver for pain and suffering and loss of the loved one.

While the fatality rate in car accidents in Illinois is low compared with other states, the increased need for transportation still poses a risk of an increase in car accidents and fatalities, according to the research conducted by the authorities.

The latest car accident reports state that 252 fatal car accidents have occurred in the last year with over 274 victims succumbing to their injuries. It was an increase of 18 fatalities from the last report conducted. Such fatal car accidents also involved 25 cases of drivers driving without valid driving licenses.
