Illinois highway crash kills one, injures two others

Car accidents cause serious injuries to those involved and many victims are minor children or older citizens. Victims often suffer traumatic injury to the brain and neck including fractures and external bleeding and internal hemorrhaging. Car accidents can also be cataclysmic for the victim's family who must absorb the financial and emotional consequences, such as exorbitant medical bills and helping the victim through long-term medical treatment due to disability. Some victims die due to injuries suffered despite getting medical care and attention.

A recent crash on an Illinois highway took a heavy toll on those involved, including claiming the life of the motorcyclist involved in the crash. Police stated that the car accident occurred at night and took the life of the motorcycle driver and that the driver of a car involved and a motorcycle passenger were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. The injured were in stable medical condition and authorities did not mention intoxication as a possible cause of the accident. The accident investigation is still being conducted and the cause and extent of the accident's damage will remain unknown until the investigation's completion.

Car accidents are considered serious events by Illinois authorities due to the number of accidents reported each year and the resultant damage to people and property. A victim of a car accident or a family member or surviving dependents often consult an accident attorney. An attorney can initiate a lawsuit against those responsible, including a car driver and his or her insurance company, for compensation to address the financial needs of those injured or killed in the crash.

Relevant factors in determining the outcome of these cases include the extent of the injury suffered by the victim, any destruction of property and actual medical expenses incurred for treating accident victims. Additionally, a car driver with a history of accidents or found guilty of traffic violations may face criminal charges.
