Illinois truck accident leaves one dead

Commercial trucks are some of the largest and most complex vehicles on Illinois' roadways. These massive vehicles pose great threats to others on the roadway in the form of commercial truck accidents. These wrecks have the potential to cause serious injuries and fatalities as well as extensive emotional and financial harm. Victims therefore need to be aware of their legal rights so that they know how to act in the event that they are involved in one of these deadly accidents.

Unfortunately, these accidents are all too common. In fact, just recently one person was killed in a truck accident in Illinois. According to reports, the semi-truck driver was killed on Interstate 55. Police claim that the driver's truck was involved in an accident with another semi-truck.

At this time, very little is known about the actual accident. However, police say that one of the drivers had been hauling car parts and the other food. Additionally, at least one of the large trucks caught on fire as a result of the collision.

The loss of a loved one in a truck accident like this can be a devastating experience. Not only is someone's life abruptly ended, but it leaves the surviving family with a variety of difficult questions about why the accident occurred and how it could have been prevented.

When the negligence of another driver is responsible for a truck accident, legal action might be necessary. A negligent truck driver or truck company may be held financially responsible for any financial hardship a truck accident victim suffers. This can include pain and suffering, lost wages and medical expenses. If a victim dies, the person's family may also be entitled to a variety of damages.
