Injured workers have the right to compensation in Illinois

A workplace accident can be devastating for Illinois workers and their family. A workplace accident can result in anything from minor injury to a permanent disability. People need to understand how these accidents affect their financial situation and their legal rights.

In Illinois, every worker, in most situations, is entitled to worker's compensation benefits following an injury at work. Through the worker's compensation system, people can receive compensation for the financial costs of the accident. This can include lost wages and medical expenses.

However, these rights may not be automatic. There are notice requirements that need to be met in order for worker's compensation benefits to apply. In particular, most workers have only 45 days to report an injury to their employer to qualify for these benefits.

Notice requirements may only be one of many steps that need to be fulfilled by injured workers. At our law firm, we work with our clients to do our best to make it possible for them to get the compensation they need. By working with our law firm, injured workers can focus on their recovery while we focus on applying for benefits.

At our law firm we also work to put a value on our clients' injuries in the case, their financial losses and their eligibility for worker's compensation. For decades, our attorneys have worked to serve Illinois residents who have been injured at work. While a workplace accident might be a once-in-a-lifetime event for a worker, we understand the complexities of the worker's compensation system.
